I believe it’s important for the music to complement and enhance the theme of your event. Maybe you’re looking for some smooth, easy listening, background music, or some fun popular tunes from your choice of decades, or perhaps a program of energetic and upbeat music.

Here is a list (with some examples) of the genres of music in my repertoire:

  • Rock - mostly soft rock like Van Morrison, Tom Petty, The Eagles…
  • Pop - songs from Neil Diamond, Passenger, Paul Simon and so many more
  • Folk & Folk-Rock - think of Bob Dylan, Peter, Paul & Mary, Gordon Lightfoot…
  • Oldies - Blue Moon, Smile, The Tennessee Waltz, Bye Bye Love…
  • Traditional - The Midnight Special, This Land Is Your Land, Wellerman…
  • Blues - Kansas City, Summertime, Sweet Virginia, Alberta…
  • Country - songs by John Prine, Willie Nelson, Hank Williams, George Strait…

With my background in engineering, technical support and as a software instructor, I have the organizational skills and attention to detail necessary to assist you with planning and delivering a great musical program! Oh! And I've been told that I have a bit of talent… but it hasn't gone to my head… YET!

  • Beat Buddy Percussion / Drum Machine - great for dance events and large gatherings (limited availability)
  • Sing-Along Program - may include presentation (i.e., like power point) of lyrics for audience

I’ve been singing and playing guitar since I was a youngster. Back then, I performed strictly for fun, for family, and friends. That was, up until 1999, when I discovered songwriting through the Nashville Songwriters Association and started performing in front of audiences. I loved it! Since then and especially after retiring, I’ve performed all over the country at bars, restaurants, pubs, wineries, house concerts, corporate events, private parties, and community events. I now focus on private events as my preferred venue for performing.

Once I have the information (see EVENT QUESTIONAIRE) and understand what event planners are  looking for… I will:

  1. Verify my availability, experience, style, sound system, and repertoire meets your entertainment and musical requirements.
  2. Provide a quote, proposal, and/or an agreement for approval.
  3. Proposal/Agreement accepted by both parties and deposit completed.
  4. Custom set lists created with event planners input and requests.
  5. Event Confirmations scheduled and email sent at 30, 10, and 2 days prior to the event.
  6. Event Day (before performance) — Equipment setup 30 to 60 minutes prior to start time, and balance of musicians fee paid.
  7. Performance Variables — sound system adjustments, engagement with audience, song requests, determined by the room/space/environment and per event planners and audience wishes.

$125 to $200/hour
These are some of the factors that determine the fee: venue's budget, equipment required (ampilifier/speakers, voice harmonizer, guitar effects, percussion, mixing console, etc.), room and/or audience size, preparation time. I may be able to offer discounts for charities and community events.
